President Deborah Roberts surprised Secretary Ron Pearce on 28 June 2016 with the award of the Roger Brazier Memorial tankard for ‘Endeavour’ in support of the Club’s activities.

President Deborah Roberts was delighted to welcome Mark Ingram as a new member of the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove on  28 June 2016.

Bromsgrove members attended the Charter Anniversary Dinner of the Rotary Club of Worcester Severn at Worcestershire County Cricket Ground, which raised money for the Winton Foundation. Those attending listened to the daughter of Sir Nicholas Winton recount her father’s life, which included rescuing 669 children from the Holocaust.

Bromsgrove members show a cheque for £3000 representing monies raised which will support our chosen school in Bangladesh with much needed equipment.

The Rotary Club of Bromsgrove is delighted to be supporting South Bromsgrove High School during 2016/2017 to deliver educational work with their Year 9 students at the activity centre at Upton Warren. The programme allows students to have a go at sailing and canoeing, and to gain accreditation, as well as building up teamwork skills and resilience.

The Rotary Club of Bromsgrove is delighted to have supported the recent Spirit Of Bromsgrove Sports, Arts and Community Awards.

Several members of the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove will be attending a ‘Midsummer Music in the Garden’ event on 18 June 2016 at Stourport on Severn. The event will raise money for two charities the Sunny Trust and Cystic Fibrosis Care.

Several members of our Club will attend a Charter Anniversary Dinner on 9 June hosted by the Rotary Club of Worcester Severn at Worcester County Cricket Ground. Barbara Winton the daughter of Sir Nicholas Winton will speak about her father and his heroic work during the Second World War.

On 8 April the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove hosted the annual Worcestershire Evening in the new Dining Hall at Bromsgrove School. Guest speaker was David Shaw Chief Constable of West Mercia Police. During the evening President Deborah Roberts was presented with a Paul Harris fellowship by District Governor Paul Jaspal. A considerable amount of money was raised, which will be shared between Age UK and Worcestershire Young Carers.

Today 12 April the Rotary Club of Bromsgrove meets at Shimla Peppers Restaurant in Bromsgrove to enjoy a meal with proprietor and Rotarian Jufiker Choudhury to raise funds for a school in his home area in Bangladesh. Pictured are some of the pupils wih Julfiker.
