My first involvement with Rotary was in the early 1980s, when I was selected by Rotary to take part in a Group Study Exchange visit to Germany. At this time, I was a young police officer and worked with my counterparts in Germany for a month. I derived considerable learning and development in my career from this experience, and decided that I should join Rotary after a long and busy working career when I would have the freedom and time to give something back to local and foreign communities.

I am now the Club Secretary and Secretary of the Len Giles Charitable Trust, and enjoy immensely the fellowship within Rotary and the work involved in the many projects which we undertake.
