The Rotary Club became aware recently of the Tower Appeal launched by St Michael and All Angels Church in Stoke Prior, which is in need of significant restoration work. The church was built in the twelfth century and is Grade 1 listed. The church community began fundraising in 2015 after a corner of the tower parapet collapsed, and their mission is to undertake repairs to the tower and other areas that are failing. Following support from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other charities and foundations, those working for the church have edged closer to their target of £530,000. There is a shortfall of around £6000. The Rotary Club is very keen to support the heritage which the church represents, and is pleased to have been able to support the fantastic fundraising efforts of all concerned with a donation of £1000.
